Vered Brownstein is an Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist specializing in a range of mental and behavioral health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and life transitions. She earned her MSW from the Silverman School of Social Work at Hunter College and completed advanced training in child and adolescent psychotherapy at The William Alanson White Institute.

Ms. Brownstein has worked in diverse settings, including Medicaid clinics, domestic violence clinics, and schools, gaining extensive experience in supporting individuals across various life circumstances. Additionally, she has established and built ad-hoc mental health clinics in emergency shelters for displaced survivors, where she and a team of mental health professionals recruited, trained, and supervised therapists in crisis and trauma management for individuals in acute distress.

With a patient-centered, evidence-based approach, Ms. Brownstein provides individual and family therapy, helping clients develop effective coping strategies and build emotional resilience. She also offers supervision to LMSW therapists working toward their clinical license, supporting their professional development.

Her goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can manage their emotions, overcome challenges, and achieve lasting emotional well-being.

I have taught as adjunct professor at Lewis and Clark College in their Eating Disorder Training and Certificate program. I’m also a member of Columbia River Eating Disorder Network, National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), NYC EFT, Portland EFT. International Academy for Eating Disorders, and International Association Of Eating Disorders (IAEDP).

I am currently an adjunct professor at Columbia University School of Social Work In New York City.

Sabina Preter

I am a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, practicing on the UES in Manhattan, offering individual assessments, second opinions, as well as ongoing treatment. The focus of my practice are children, adolescents, and young adults, in particular (but not exclusively) girls, and young women. Every consultation starts with a thorough evaluation process to define the nature of the issues, prior to making recommendations for treatment.
I evaluate and treat a wide range of conditions, examples are anxiety disorders, mood disorders (depression and bipolar disorder), adjustment reactions, attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder, developmental disorders, and post-traumatic conditions. Besides the clinical work in my private practice, I serve as Director of Child Clinical Services at the Treatment Center of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute, where I also supervise psychotherapy students.
