Joni S. Mantell, LCSW is a psychotherapist specializing in donor conception, adoption and infertility, with both personal and professional experience in donor conception. After more than 30 years specializing in these areas, she discovered she herself is donor conceived. She is the Founder and Director of the Infertility and Adoption Counseling Center in New Jersey and New York City, where she works with late discovery and always known donor conceived persons, recipient parents, adoptive parents, birth parents and adoptees. This unique perspective has given her a deep understanding of the lifelong identity, relational, and emotional issues in adoption and donor conception.

She holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and completed a four-year Certification Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy at the Post-Graduate Center for Mental Health in NYC. In addition to her family-building specialization, she works extensively with couples, performing artists, and writers.

I am a NYS licensed clinical social worker in private practice in Park Slope Brooklyn, NY, with post graduate training from The Ackerman Institute. I provide psychotherapy to teens, adults, couples and families.
