Dr. Arielle Freedberg is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in New York State and Connecticut, working in private practice individually and with Flatiron CBT. Dr. Freedberg specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness and uses these approaches to treat perinatal mood difficulties (before, during, and after pregnancy) and fertility challenges. She also treats individuals struggling with OCD using ERP and treats individuals with depression, generalized and social anxiety, difficulties regulating emotions, and difficulties managing life transitions. Dr. Freedberg incorporates skills from both DBT and ACT into her work. In addition, Dr. Freedberg helps individuals navigate identity conflict in general and as it relates to sexual orientation, values clarification, chronic health problems, and relationship and interpersonal difficulties. Dr. Freedberg is an LGBT affirmative psychologist.
Dr. Freedberg has completed the Postpartum Support International and 2020 Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training for Mental Health and Clinical Professionals. She also participated in the 10 month Fertility Counseling Postgraduate Course via live teleconference with field experts, Sharon Covington, MSW and Linda Applegarth, Ed.D.
Dr. Freedberg has served as a clinical supervisor in CBT and DBT to postdoctoral fellows and externs at CBT/DBT Associates, where she was a Senior Staff Psychologist prior to opening a Greenwich, CT practice. She has also supervised NYU psychiatry residents in CBT. In addition to her clinical work with depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, perinatal mood difficulties, fertility conflict, and life transitions, Dr. Freedberg's dissertation research explored the identity conflict experienced by women who identified as Orthodox Jewish Feminists.
Dr. Freedberg completed her Pre-doctoral internship at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) Counseling and Psychological Services, and her postdoctoral fellowship in college mental health at Sarah Lawrence College Health Services. Dr. Freedberg is an active member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, The Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and Postpartum Support International.
