Alexandra Rau

I’ve been in private practice since 2004, working with adults individually, in couples, and in groups. My style is warm, empathic, and collaborative. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and share freely. You’ll find me listening intently, asking questions, but also allowing for moments of quiet reflection. My approach is informed by my training in psychoanalysis as well as cognitive behavioral therapies, and I believe that a good therapeutic fit, where you feel truly seen and heard, can be transformative.

Barbara Bartlik

Psychiatrist, M.D.

Rated one of New York Magazine's Best Doctors in Psychiatry, Dr. Barbara Bartlik is a recognized expert clinician, teacher, and author in integrative medicine, psychiatry, and sexual health. She has been in private practice in Manhattan, New York City, New York, for more than 30 years. In all her clinical work, Dr. Bartlik applies an evidence-based, holistic, integrative medical approach to treatment, emphasizing lifestyle and nutritional strategies, and seeking to responsibly minimize the use of pharmaceuticals while optimizing health and well-being. She uses sophisticated laboratory tests (hormones, nutrients, genetics, toxins) to reveal underlying sources of micronutrient depletion and inflammation that contribute to medical and emotional problems, and addresses these through conventional treatments as well as dietary change, nutritional supplementation, and the elimination of toxins and other detrimental environmental factors.

Patricia J. Moscou

Psychologist, Ph.D.

Trained in the tradition of psychodynamic psychotherapy, I spent many years initially treating patients with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders and eventually teaching and supervising in the residency and psychology internship programs at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After some additional years doing administrative work for the NYS Office of Mental Health (several facilities), I switched my focus from a public health perspective to independent practice, continuing my work individually with adults as well as with couples and families. Although my primary orientation toward psychopathology and treatment continues to be psychodynamic, I occasionally integrate some cognitive behavioral tools into the psychotherapy; I was certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy when the treatment was initiated at the facility in which I was an administrator.
