In my work I incorporate cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theory and technique. I specialize in anxiety disorders, depression, parenting and relationship issues. I am a licensed clinical psychologist (NY, CT) with extensive experience treating children, adolescents, and adults. My specializations include the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, social anxiety, specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, and disruptive behavior disorders. Additionally, I see clients for a variety of life stage difficulties, including parenting, perinatal and postpartum issues, and transitioning to college. My approach to therapy is to collaborate with clients to help them change behavior patterns and build a life in line with their values to improve their overall wellness.

Danielle Shelov

Psychologist

Dr. Shelov earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Her doctoral research was one of the pioneer clinical studies (2008) that examined the importance of yoga on both mindfulness and emotional well-being. During her training, she worked at Montefiore Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, Columbia Psychiatric Institute, and completed her APA Internship at Maimonides Medical Center. Prior to starting a private practice, Danielle worked at Columbus Park Collaborative: Day Treatment Center for Eating Disorders. Danielle frequently lectures on eating disorder treatment to other mental health professionals.
Dr. Shelov also specializes in couples work, utilizing her EFT and systems trainings.

Amanda Brown

I am a Columbia-trained Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in medication management for women’s-related psychiatric issues ranging from menses to menopause and everything in-between. I also see dads for male PMADs. Additional areas of interest include adult ADHD/executive dysfunction in adult professionals, acute mania, impulse control and psychotic disorders. In my private practice, Mindful Medication Psychiatry, I provide care virtually to patients in NY and NJ. In-person sessions can be arranged on an as-needed basis at locations throughout NY & NJ.

Suparna Basu

Psychiatrist

Originally from Delhi, India, Dr. Basu completed her medical training in Nepal before relocating to the United States for a psychiatric residency at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital. She started the outpatient psychiatric department at Baylor University in Irving, TX, and taught psychiatry to medical students at Texas A&M before moving into private practice.

Dr. Basu believes that building human connection is a critical aspect of practicing successful evidence-based medicine. She sees mental health as more than just the presence of specific symptoms, a diagnosis, or the medication her patients may decide to take. She gives clients the time, space, and non-judgmental attention they need during periods of crisis and enjoys collaborating with fellow clinicians, especially therapists, who she sees as an invaluable part of treatment.
